As you may know the (black-blue)  supply lead for the dashboard illumination is unfused.

The same counts for the plus lead to the gauges, there's also no fuse in this circuit.

A short in the brass bulb holder can lead to serious damage in your wire harness.

This easy to install inline fuseholder protects your wiring and expensive light switch.

• The inline fuse can be positioned before the instrument lights harness or (better) at the light switch in between terminal 58A  and the black blue wire(s) *
• The other fuse can be placed in between the blue-yellow (1965-1970) or red-black black wire (1971-1989) from the plus loop. You can cut this wire where it comes out of main harness and put this fuse in between.

* for 69 and 70 models this wire will be black-purple.
