901 Wiring Harness – Exact Reproduction for the First 911

For the earliest Porsche 911, the Typ 901, we manufacture complete wiring harnesses that are exact reproductions of the original. These sets are built with meticulous attention to detail, including wires that were originally present but not always used—ensuring full authenticity.

The instrument cluster features correctly fitted flag terminals, and the dashboard turn signal indicators flash in unison, as per original factory design. The voltage regulator is connected via a specific plug unique to the 901. Notably, the brake light switch features an extended lead length compared to later models, and the windshield washer pump is mounted on the right side under the cowl instead of in the front left fender.

Additional deviations include unique wiring for the generator harness, interior lighting, and luggage compartment illumination. The instrument lighting bulbs are not part of a separate sub-harness but are instead integrated into a loop on the main chassis harness.

Over the years, we’ve produced several harnesses for 901 models and continue to encounter subtle variations—even examples where the grey bulkhead connectors for the ignition switch and wiper switch were reversed. To ensure a perfect match, we strongly prefer to receive your original harness as a reference before production.
