Porsche 911/912 SWB (1965–1968) – Complete Wiring Harnesses

For all model years of the Short Wheel Base (SWB) Porsche 911 and 912, produced between 1965 and 1968, we supply fully pre-assembled wiring harnesses from stock – available for both left-hand and right-hand drive vehicles. Besides all wiring looms each set includes:

• Three original-style bulkhead connectors

• A brand-new 12-position fuse box with ceramic fuses and the correct original-style label

         Model Year 1965:

• The windshield washer pump – like in the 901 – was located on the right-hand side below the windshield.

• Therefore, the front harness does not include a washer pump wire; it runs through the main chassis harness instead.

• Instrument lighting is still integrated into the main wiring loom.

• The 911 featured 5 gauges; the 912 had 3.

• Fog light wiring is standard in both the main and front harnesses, and was directly switched – without a relay.

• Aside from the engine-specific section, the 911 and 912 shared the same harness layout.

  • For example, in the 912, the wires for the oil level sensor were present but simply taped off.

• All 1965 models used bullet terminals on the ignition switch.

• The 912 had a different alternator connection compared to the 911.

         Model Year 1966:

• The washer pump was relocated to the left-hand side, near the battery.

• The front harness was modified to include a dedicated wire for the washer pump.

• The ignition switch was updated to use spade terminals instead of bullet connectors.

• Fog lamps continued to be directly switched with no relay and the instrument lighting wiring became a standalone sub-harness

  Model Years 1967–1968:

• Regulations required that fog lamps could only be used in combination with low or high beam. As a result, a separate optional fog lamp harness with relay was introduced and no longer integrated into the main chassis harness.

Additional Specifications:

• All harnesses are finished with original-style PVC tubing.

• Exception: vehicles built in Zuffenhausen were originally taped, and we reproduce them that way as well.

• Optional wiring for the Webasto auxiliary heater is also available.
